Lorca, Spain

Young Europeans especially need to learn how to identify and emphasise with one another. One of the ways to do it is to experience life in a different community, while doing a voluntary service. Therefore, in order to steam community cohesion, which will ensure stability and peace in Europe, CGE Erfurt e.V. together with its partners have developed “Community Goes Europe 2: Building Solidarity Across the Nations”. The project will give young people across Europe new opportunities to engage in solidarity activities addressing societal challenges and strengthening communities. Two volunteers will be placed in Lorca, Spain in the Cazalla Intercultural (http://cazalla-intercultural.org) and by supporting the organisation will acquire the skills and competences needed for their own personal and professional development at the beginning of their careers. More information about the project: bit.ly/CommunityGoesEurope2

The volunteers will be accommodated in a comfortable and equipped flat. The food allowance will be given to the volunteers every month, based on the Erasmus+ regulations.

The volunteers take active part in the activities of the organisation, learn from its staff and be encouraged to create their own initiatives. Each week there will be a dedicated time for personal development (which includes meeting with people, planning, discussing, evaluating personal initiatives and projects). Besides, the volunteers will take over and manage the cultural events, such as language clubs, movie nights etc. Last but not least, the volunteers will be provided with the pre-departure, on-arrival and mid-term trainings.
